Family Empowerment Coach – Part -Time
Missouri Valley Community Action Agency is seeking a compassionate, motivated Family Empowerment Coach to support families on their journey toward stability, growth, and long-term success. In this part-time role (24 hours/week), you will build strong, respectful relationships with families, help them identify their strengths, set SMART goals, teach them to overcome barriers, and connect with essential community resources. 
The Family Empowerment Coach ensures families have the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need to achieve upward economic and social mobility. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, has a desire to learn and develop as a professional, and is passionate about empowering others—someone who thrives on meaningful, one-on-one work and believes in the mission “To Engage Communities and Coordinate Resources to Improve the Lives of People Experiencing Poverty.”

This position will be for Carroll County and Ray County
 
Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of coaching and/or case management experience
  • Ability to obtain Cognitive Behavior Therapy Life Coach certification within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to obtain the Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire
  • Ability to obtain MoJobs training to administer SkillUP services
  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle
  • Ability to travel regularly within and outside the service area
  • Must pass initial and random drug testing
  • Must pass Family Care Safety Registry and fingerprint background screening
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and enter homes that may include stairs or long walking distances
  • Strong communication, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Services, Life Coaching certification or related field
  • Experience using strength-based approaches or coaching techniques
  • Knowledge of local community resources and support systems
  • Experience working with diverse populations
